Answer
If what you like to eat are fast foods and rich cakes, then eat your favorite foods less often and in smaller amounts, or learn to prepare them in healthful ways. But do not deprive yourself althogether because research shows that over-restriction leads to overeating. Give yourself enough calories to eat a balanced diet but save 100 – 300 daily calories to spend on anything you'd like. These “discretionary calories” are usually reserved for sugar, solid fat or alcohol, and can be saved and spent all at once or used in small amounts everyday.
