Unintentionally I only had 1411cals yesterday (serves me right for 'boasting' that I had this planning lark under control!) I had to substitute a fish dish that I thought I had in the freezer for cereal (not a great substitute I know!) so I was a little unsure where I was cal-wise. Then I got stuck into decorating & card writing and ended up having more cereal & toast as a late supper (didn't want anything too heavy as it was so late?) and guess what- I'm up a lb today- back to 176lbs. Theres definately a pattern there- the days I'm under by 100-150cals I go up a lb. Interesting.
Anyway, back to 'normal' today. I checked my cupboard/freezer this morning so I know exactly whats there. No more screw-ups. Plus I have to plan the weekends food too....
Is it that the quick, unplanned meals are higher in sodium because they are packaged foods? You've obviously figured out what works for you, but it's always a mystery to me why our bodies react in that way. I go down a pound if I overeat for two days straight, as long as I've been on target the other days of the week. Strange.

My unplanned meals tend to be very simple- weetabix (wheat biscuit cereal) or a veg omelette/stir-fry as they're 'staple' foods that I'd have all the time. Its weird when I under-eat slightly that I go up a bit- a sign my body still doesn't trust me methinks.... |
