Don't clean up a whole room!and not finish it

Ok, so during the holidays I decided that we were going to put up our Christmas tree and my husband decided to shampoo the carpets. Unfortunately, I didn't get to sleep until 4:30am Sunday morning and then I got up and ate around 9:am and then fell back to sleep because it was so cold in the house. Hubby came down around 11:30 and I made lunch and then laid back down again. All of a sudden hubby goes someone is knocking at the door and I don't have any clothes on! Well, get some on and maybe they will leave. It is always the Jehovah witness anyway after thanksgiving and we do celebrate our own religion so I really don't feel too bad not taking their literature, but I do wish them well.
No, this is not who it was! It was a long lost relatative of 22 years! An uncle who came to our wedding and my father purchased a bottle of wine for them. He wanted to give that to us as a Christmas gift. A 23 year old bottle of wine! Daizy, interested? (LOL). They came inside our house! Oh . . . and I had stuff in piles where I was sorting and four violin cases in the living room along with two large dogs. No room to sit. Any way, the long story short of it. . . . we have been estranged to him since a little after our wedding because of family problems. Now, my husband's family is doing to him and his girlfriend what they TRIED to do to me and my husband. Seperate us!. So, his uncle told me - "I guess Steve had it right, the heck with them, and told them to get out of his life." His uncle did the same thing finally after 14 years, just a few weeks ago. Oh well.
No, weigh-in today. I really haven't felt good. My head congestion is all cleared up and now I have a runny nose. I'd rather have that though. The stomache is doing really good and the blood sugars have been fine today. The not feeling good all stems from having been cold all morning. This house has little insulation around the windows (they need to be replaced). DH . . . programmed the thermostate with a password so it can't be raised no higher than 70 degrees at any time.
For dinner tonight we are having baked cod and melody veggies, along with yes the salt ladden box of macaroni, but I will not be having any (that is my plans) Wheat bread as a sandwich with american cheese.
Well, over and out! Take care all and I missed you during the holiday weekend, but sure hope you all have a good one and now . . . it's MERRY CHRISTMAMS!!!!

Absolutely! When shall I be there to crack it open with you??! Just teasing. Are you going to save it for your anniversary or have it at Christmas?? I would be so angry if my hubby put a password on the thermostat! I try really hard not to turn it up too high, but still, you can only stay under the electric blanket for so long! LOL (And 70* isn't bad at all - my inlaws keep their house at 63*F - it's freezing!!) I hope you managed to warm up. Funny you should mention the Jehovah Witnesses coming the day after T-day. Two of them came to our house on Friday morning, too and scared the daylights out of me when they rang our doorbell (it was the first time I've heard it in our place. I don't think I realized we even HAD a doorbell here!) I couldn't imagine whom it could be at that hour on Friday morning. Jeff went down to get the door and he took their literature from them. They wanted to come back when I was awake, but so far they haven't ;) I have my own practice, too, so I'll join you in wishing them well. Have a great night! |
So sorry I missed your call. I was at the dentist with my youngest. I do find it amusing that you had this happen this weekend with what I wrote in my journal. *G*.... isnt it funny how things like that parrelel for us. *G*;) well Ia m off for the night. you get rest. and I will hopefully see you on here tomorrow. Does it ever fail, that when the house is all torn up, the doorbell rings? Oh well. He came to see you both and not your house.
