Can dieting be making me so exhausted?

I have only lost 15 lbs, but I am seriously counting calories now, and trying to make a difference in my life. I am a Stay-At-Home-Mom and I am EXHAUSTED. I am not tired, not bored, not depressed - just plain ole WIPED OUT. Can it be that the calories are too low or the weight loss too quick? When I started keeping track I was easily eating over 4-5000 a day and now I average 1700-2000 a day with slip ups, but on days like today I am exhausted and just want to eat to feel energized!
Answer
Your calorie intake is where it should be for a woman of your age, height and activity level, and so assuming your diet is balanced and you have regular meals, I don’t think your tiredness is due to your diet or weight loss. Tiredness has many causes including poor sleeping patterns, anemia, thyroid disease, sleep apnea, mononucleosis, PMS, dehydration, and simply being unfit. For a non-medical approach, examine your activity pattern to see how you can get in better shape. For a medical opinion, visit your doctor for a complete examination and blood work.
