25-35 Pounds By Christmas? ***GROUP CLOSED***

Quote  |  Reply

Christmas is approximately 22 weeks away, give or take a few days. I would like to lose a minimum of 28 pounds by then...but losing 35 pounds would be even more awesome!!! I think this is a healthy and realistic goal...25-35 pounds in about, let's call it 21 weeks, is the equivalent of losing 1.19-1.66 pounds a week.
Would anyone like to join me? I would like to find a group of committed people who can support one another and celebrate together all along the way. Is anyone with me? I find it easiest to weigh in on Fridays, but we can each weigh in whenever. Just check in and support one another at least twice a week!
I currently weigh 222.4...I am trying to get to 195 by Christmas and 188 would be downright awesome!

I want to join. My goal is 127-132. I have been stuck for some time between 154 and 164 CW 156? I don't want to weigh in on Sat, Sun or Monday because I work Fri Sat Sun nights.  Friday weigh in works for me (or Thursday)

Hello- I'm in. I would love to look better for Christmas. I've been on this site about a weekor so now. I really like the way I can see the calories I eat and put in my exercise. I currently weigh 210lbs. and I'm 5'3". I wear a tight 16. I have had to buy new clothes after losing my job last January and putting on the pounds! I haven't been this big since I was very ill 18 years ago. I hate it!I need the accountabliity that you don't get from your family some times.Weighing in on Friday is great for me. Let's chat more.

I am 5'6  and 245 as of last week I have not weighed this week.  I am on the exercise and diet change track.  I have been stuck for awhile  but want to make changes.  I am in....Cool

Whoa!  That is the EXACT amount I want to lose by Christmas!  I am so frustrated right not though, the scale will NOT budge!  I have been eating right and exercising alot and I even gained a little in a week!  I have to keep moving ahead though and keep positive!

Meant to add: I will weigh-in whenever you'd like, so Friday's work for me!  I would like to join this group!!  I am 35, 5'4", SW: 154, CW: 149.6, GW: 121.  I was hoping to get to this weight by Christmas - I was at this weight about 5 years ago!  I am hoping to get to the 130s by October!  I weight train 2-3 days a week, do 1 day Spinning class, and Run / Walk / Jog the other days.  The weight is coming off rather slow for me though!
Yay! This is exactly what I need. I would LOVE to weigh 145 by Christmas- I am currently 179, so I would be happy with 150, too!

I'm in, guys.  35, 5'5(ish), SW: 156, CW: 149.8, GW 125.  I am hoping to reach my GW by Christmas - also at this weight just over 5 years ago when I got pregnant with my 4th child.  I can definitely weigh in on Fridays and check in several times a week.  My goal is going to be a little hard to reach - I am extremely limited in the exercise I can do because of some physical limitations.  My current workout goal right now is 15 minutes on the treadmill at least 4 times a week.

Twins / Trips, yes , sounds like we are VERY close!  My actual starting weight was in the 160s maybe a year and a half ago, but have been fluctuating in the 150s forever!  It take a great deal of effort for me to get into the 140s, so I am wondering if the 120s will ever be attainable for me again???  I used to run a lot about 5 years ago and dropped weight like mad, but it's not happening now.

Hi Betsy, I would like to join your new group.  I have been slack here lately and gained some weight back.  I would love to lose 25-30 pounds by Christmas!

fluffyveed4--I have been stuck too...It is driving me nuts...

Recently I have been trying to honestly look at why and I think it is

  1. alcohol (I added some back in and maybe it DOES slow down metabolism)
  2. I stopped planning my day's meals on here first
  3. I got frustrated and did more of 1 and 2.
Hello there!  I gained a bit too much weight while I was pregnant, and am getting extremely frustrated at the scale (which is not moving fast at all)  I know it takes time, but I would love to lose at least 25 by Christmas!  I think it would be great to have some support from others who are going through the same struggle! I am 25 and 5'3.

Editted to add:  Fridays are tough days for weighing in for me.  If it's not a problem, I will just post my Thursday weight on Friday Laughing

I'd like to join as well!  I started this CC thing about two and a half months ago and have lost 3 lbs (yeah, I'm a SPEED MACHINE) and I'd like to try to see if I can step that up a little.  I only have 17 lbs left to lose, though, so I hope that's okay.   Being my goal weight for Christmas would be the best present ever.  Fridays are my normal weigh-in days, so that works out perfectly.

Fluffyveed4 - Yeah, my starting weight was 172 back in 2006.  I went to the Dr. and realized I weighed as much as when I was nine months pregnant with my first child!  I got down in the 160's using this website and kind of fell off the wagon first part of 2007.  I would try off and on to lose weight but it wouldn't come off no matter what - not even an ounce!  I was finally diagnosed with MS last spring and have been on treatment for that.  I started the process of being diagnosed with lupus a few months ago.  All of a sudden, I went to the Dr. and my weight had dropped six pounds in one month.  Hmmmm....decided to use my body's sudden cooperation to really work on getting back in shape.  I won't say it has been easy (I'm a notorious meal skipper, junk food addict.) but as I'm really seeing progress it has been encouraging~!

ME TOO...

I would love to be at 155 by Christmas. We should be in our new house by then too. YEAH

I can change my weigh in to Fridays. I currently do Monday, but the scale was no good to me this morning. Maybe it will be better Friday :-O

Awesome!  What a group - that was fast!  Okay, we will leave this group open for sign-ups until Tuesday night and then close it so it doesn't get too huge.  If there is more interest, people can start a second Christmas group or a New Year's group or something.
I will post more Tuesday night or Wednesday morning as I am about to leave out of town this morning.
Plan on weighing in when you already do - Monday, Thursday, Friday - whatever is easiest for you!  This is about challenging ourselves and encouraging eachother and celebrating successes together!  The one big thing I ask is that we check in and post twice a week - make that when you like.  That way there is more support, accountability and encouragement.
Congratulations Chalotee_D on your upcoming wedding!  How exciting!!!!
SDMerrill - it is great to see you again!  I am with you, I had lost 24 or so pounds, then gained about 11 of those pounds back...I have taken some off again though and am about where I was before, so that is great!  Time to push, push, push through the wall and get this weight off!
I am going to pos like ZenaSavvy with my stats and weigh-in dates.  Easier to see progress that way!

What a great Christmas gift we'll be giving to ourselves!

zenasavvy - I used to drink wine almost every night, but have been 100% alcohol free now for 6 solid weeks!  It was becoming quite a habit.  I thought I would drop the weight faster because of this though.... also, I used to skip breakfast everyday and just drink coffee.  Now, I eat breakfast, even if it is just a little yogurt.

jennelaw - sorry to hear about your diagnosis!  Hopefully your successful weightloss will make it more manageable!
