GW: currently 135 (but I would love to be 122 by New Year's!)

Let's do it! :)

hello, i'm 29.  i am 143 lbs at the moment.  i would like to get down to 120 lbs by the new years too.  i'm falling back to old habits and am in need of encouragement.   i'm addicted to junk food and i'm a overeater.  what kind of nutritious foods do you eat to keep full throughout the day?

hi!

i usually eat five/six times a day, usual three main meals and three snacks.

my snacks will consist of yogurt, fruit, milk, nuts & dried fruit.

i'm a vegetarian and usually pack my lunch and two snacks for work! i'd love to start 2009 by hitting my goal weight.

how about you guys?
Im in too!

CW 188 Grrr

i'm starting to get excited about this!! :)

Hi everyone,

I'm new to this site, but I have been working on weight loss for about two years. It's going slowly, and I think having some support would help me push myself.

SW: 202.5

CW: not sure, I'll tell you tomorrow

GW: 130

Looking forward to it...

yeah, i think not needing a resolution would be amazing. :)

unfortunately i don't eat as often as i probably should, although i always manage to get my calories in for the day.

i pack my lunch and snacks too (although i end up not eating my snacks usually...)

i live with my parents during summers and they like to cook. even though the things we eat are commonly considered 'healthy,' like chicken breasts, veggies, etc., i find that i have a hard time with portion control when i like what we're eating. so i kind of bank up my calories for dinner. a lot of people say i shouldn't do that but so far i've lost ten pounds and i'm not planning on changing my habits unless the weight loss stops!

right now i am not exercising (shame on me, i really should be) but intend to start as soon as school starts up again because i have access to a free gym with a cardio/weight room. as of now i wake up at 5:15 for work as it is and by the time i get home and eat i am too tired to work out. so that's my excuse. :P

and that's the end of this novel. :)

Thats cool, i haven't started to exercise yet either, i play badminton a couple of times a week but i do that for fun rather than fitness. i am a member of a gym, I think mornings will be the best time for me but what can you eat before an early work out? i tried banana a few times before which isn't enough but if i eat say a bit of cereal i get a stitch!! need to find a way!

my evening meals are the biggest of the day too. its working for you and you 've lost ten pounds which says a lot! :)

where abouts are you from? i'm in the UK so its around 9pm here. I'm going to log off in a few mins but will check in tomorrow!

see ya soon.

I'm in! 34 pounds is perfect to lose for me.

I'm 16 years old and 5'6-ish. Weigh-ins on Thursdays would be wonderful. I'm excited! I need a group like this that will keep me accountable!

I will jump in if you're still taking people in. I am 31, 5'6" and I live in Nebraska, USA. I lost about 10 lb in 2007 then really started trying to lose/get healthy in January of 2008. I found CC in February. I was doing another weight loss challenge thread but got off track so I would love to start again with renewed vigor. I exercise 5-6 days per week with both/either weights and cardio. I recently set the personal goal (with my fiance) to build up to running a 5K (so scary!). Heres the low-down:

SW 233.5: (January 2008)

CW 202: (will update tomorrow)

GW by New Year: 168 (to make it exactly 34 lb lol)

GW: 160

my cutoff date for weight loss is actually mid-March 2009 because I'm getting married in April. But getting there by January would be AWESOME and would take one less pressure off my mind. Good Luck everyone! Glad to be part of a group like this again!!!!

Edit: added New Years specific goal weight

I want to lose 25 pounds

i don't have any opinions/knowlege about what to eat before a morning workout. i'm not a morning person at all and so any time i've read things like that i've just skimmed over them. :)

i'm from Illinois, USA. haha...no i'm not from chicago, and no i don't live on a farm (although i do live in a farming community of about 1200, but that's another story for another time). i also like to believe that i do not have a southern accent. :)

i'm really hoping this group will work out for me. i've needed this kind of motivation for awhile, just someone to keep me in line. my mom would be great except she doesn't understand/believe/whatever in the whole "starvation mode" thing so it's hard to explain to her that i really do need to keep eating if i have only gotten to 900/1000 kcal that day. but i'm excited about this!

have you thought of any mini goals? right now i'd like to be around 140 by the beginning of november. baby steps, you know?

i'm so jealous that you have the motivation to work out that much. i feel like if i could get myself moving once or twice i'd be more apt to do it more often.

i used to run cross country in high school...those days are long gone, haha. i miss it though. maybe i need to work up to that too.

ooh, and congrats on getting married! that's so exciting!

Hi Everyone.

I'm in too. I am from Germany and after coming here for a year as an au pair in 1998 i went from 118lbs to 145lbs. Just all this yummy food.I went back home and lost a bunch just by eating normal again. I moved here in 2000 and was able to keep my weight at 132 for 4 years. I got pregnant in 2005 and gained 47lbs during my pregnancy, going up to 190lbs. Right now i am at 149 but my boobs are huge and i've got some back rolls that i would like to get rid of. I just want to learn to control my eating and stay motivated to do fitness regularly. I think weighing in every Thursday is a good idea.

Here my stats:

CW: 149lbs

GW: 125-130lbs

My biggest challenge is eating before 7pm and cutting out the sweet stuff. I have an extreme sweet tooth, so much even that they thought i had pregnancy diabetes when i was pregnant with my son. It was just high blood sugar from eating too much chocolate. thankfully. But that's basically my biggest vice.

I work out 5-6 times a week. I run on the treadmill for 3 miles, work on the elliptical machine for 40 minutes or take an hour class of kickboxing.

When i exercise in the morning, i try and eat a cereal bar 30 minutes before working out. That usually gives me enough energy and has been digested enough to not give me side cramps.

Good luck, everyone

Hi, I'm in also.I'm 43 and I just started on Monday, my SW is 204, my GW is 160. I normally try and work out at least 3-4 times a week and have started to carry my lunch. I need lots of motivation.

I'm in too!  I'd love to lose by NY.  I biggest thing is I gotta have chocolate every day - ugh.
